We would be delighted if you decided to hold your special day, here at Crook Hall & Gardens, Durham City, North East- this is a very beautiful, exclusive (and romantic!) place to get married. We are a daytime venue, with the Hall available any time until 6pm on Fridays and Saturdays. We do have an evening licence up to 11.00pm and there is an additional charge for this after 6pm. You and your guests would have exclusive use of the Hall and Gardens during this time. We are able to offer ceremonies both inside our Grade I listed Medieval Hall or outside in our Wedding Gazebo which is situated in the beautiful gardens. From April to September we are licensed for up to 80 guests. The recommended maximum number of guests during the winter period, October to March, is 60. However we are licensed up to 80 for exclusive use.
We also have a ceremony only option. This is on Thursdays. While some of our couples are working with a very limited budget others have more flexibility, so we will work with you to make sure that you get exactly what you want: We don’t offer packages, all our weddings are exclusively tailor made for each couple. We are very happy to help you plan your day – because of the historic layout of the Hall and Gardens there are numerous ideas to make your exclusive wedding day really magical…. candle lit ceremony in the Medieval Hall or in the beautiful gardens, champagne by the Moat Pool, speeches in the Jacobean Room, photographs in the Secret Walled Garden, tea in the courtyard, drinks in the orchard, a wishing tree in the wooded glade……the possibilities are endless. We do our wedding show rounds during the times in which we are open to our visitors and guests, which are Sunday, Monday, Tuesday and Wednesdays 11am – 3pm.
