The Nero String Quartet are a wedding string quartet, consisting of four professional musicians who have trained at top UK conservatories. In 2003 they won first prize in The Sylvia Cleaver Chamber Music competition and were also awarded The Derek Young Memorial Award. They have performed for music clubs across the country as well as performing in France and Spain. In 2007 they received The Elgar Award.
They are one of the most sought after wedding string quartets in the Midlands and have extensive experience of playing at weddings and functions. They also work with professional orchestras (BBC, WNO, ESO) and have performed on luxury cruise ships including P&O, Fred Olsen and Cunard. In addition to their classical work, members of the quartet have also performed on TV, Film and Pop recordings, most recently performing on GMTV in February 2010. Other recent television performances from the wedding musicians include appearances on the popular programmes, 'Don't Tell The Bride' and 'Four Weddings.'
The Nero String Quartet have a wide ranging repertoire, from Bach to Coldplay and Mozart to Cole Porter offering services for modern requests as well as classical wedding music, the perfect accompaniment to any wedding or special occasion.
The string quartet also has experience of working with Bollywood themes with a varied selection of Bollywood soundtrack arrangements as part of their play list. The quartet is also able to perform in sari's.
