Hi Everyone,

Snow isn't all bad when you're planning your wedding. At these quieter times for wedding suppliers, especially when the weather is bad, wedding companies are more likely to listen to your requests for better prices and wedding discounts. Don't be silly about prices, like expecting your wedding supplier to drop their prices like stones. Instead, negotiate sensibly with reasonable discount requests and you'll get a good response from most companies.

All businesses, except those that make bigger gains from winter and Xmas business, are likely to be interested in taking your booking at slower times. One really good way to get a better response is to offer to pay something upfront, if the price is right. If a deposit of 10% is usually asked for, increase it to 25% to 50%, if you can secure a better deal for your wedding next year or the year after. If you ask for a discount without something paid upfront, you're probably going to get a No! After all, what's in it for the wedding supplier if they have to wait a long time to see your deposit. They may as well wait to see if something better comes along.

So here's the Tip of The Week: give a little NOW to get a lot more LATER by offering to pay your deposits in advance.

One more tip, always get wedding insurance before paying any wedding supplier. Should the worst happen, you'll at least have a chance of getting some of your money back.
